The wallets have a simple and elegant design. They use intuitive touch sliders and do not have any buttons.

BitBox offers two options for backup- an SD card and a Steel wallet apocalypse-proof backup.

Bitbox signs the secure chips to prevent any physical tampering. They use various measures to ensure that the device is entirely safe.

Highly recommended! They provide an easy to use and user-friendly interface.

BitBox02 wallets use polycarbonate material. They are tough and durable. I love mine!

The steel wallet consists of two metal sheets. Each of these sheets can fit six words per side. The recovery words are recorded on them using a puncher. The puncher spring creates a lasting dent. The first four characters of recovery phrases are unique; therefore, we only need to punch them. To avoid mistakes, you can first mark the holes using a felt pen and then use a puncher. To differentiate the first and the second sheet, you can make one and two holes on the side of the sheet, respectively.

Bitbox attests the wallets during factory setup. Every time you use the BitBox app, they check the authenticity of the device

The bootloader prevents installing firmware of a different edition or any downgrades. The bootloader displays the hash of the firmware before executing it for binary transparency.
Report as InappropriateMichael Holper
Bitbox uses a monotonic counter in the secure chip that limits the number of attempts for password entries. This helps in avoiding brute force attacks.
Report as InappropriateLester Belcher
Bitbox generates the twenty-four words recovery seed phrase using multiple sources of entropy. It is encrypted and stored in the Microcontroller Unit (MCU) and is protected by your chosen password and the secure chip.

Bitbox offers a secure, user-friendly application to manage your assets securely. It allows you to manage and update your Bitbox devices. They provide the latest Segwit Bech32 address format so that you can save on transaction fees.
Report as InappropriateJerry A Williamson
The Bitbox02 device can be paired with the app using BitBox Bridge. To do the same, you need to ensure that the code shown on the device screen is the same as that of the app. They provide you with the option to create a new wallet or restore an existing one.

The wallet is controlled with gestures, which is relatively new. Initially, you might find them a little challenging to use, but it's fun once you get used to them.
Report as InappropriateStephanie E Stanfield
It's crystal clear on the OLED screen when you're signing a transaction.
Report as InappropriateJingyu Wang
I found it pretty easy to use. I really like the touch on it. That was actually quite easy to navigate and easier than I thought [when] typing out words and passphrases.
Report as InappropriateJames D Meyers
The touch gestures work very reliably and are really fun with the hardware wallet. The display always remains clearly visible and the visual feedback fits perfectly with the gestures.

To summarise, the BitBox02 is finally again a rock solid hardware wallet at a reasonable price. Everything was done right here and the user experience is at a very pleasantly high level.
Report as InappropriateMatthew Laughlin
The interface and the interaction mechanism with the wallet are very nice and ingenious, allowing users to use the device in a simple, precise and fast way, as well as offering better possibilities for the choice of the password.

We would recommend the BitBox02 to anyone who needs a solid device for securing cryptocurrency.
Report as InappropriateRobert E Ober
The BitBox02 touts itself as a "simple and secure" solution for HODL'ers seeking to realize the power of cold storage, enabling users to begin securing their Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies within just 2 minutes (count it!).
Report as InappropriateTyler S Chapman
The BitBox02 comes in a bitcoin only version that supports only BTC and a multi version that supports more cryptocurrencies (including ether). The device looks "slick" and works seamlessly with the BitBoxApp.
Report as InappropriateMaxwell O Rezende
The BitBox02 is best used as a Bitcoin-only hardware wallet. That means that as few other firmware and updates as possible are carried out to support other coins. This makes the BitBox02 Bitcoin-only edition the best and most secure Bitcoin hardware wallet on the market.
Report as InappropriateCharles S Levi
After our test, we like the BitBox02 hardware wallet extremely well. The design is appealing and does not directly give away that it is a hardware wallet. It takes less than five minutes to set up and handling by tapping, swiping or holding the touch sensors on the long sides of the device is easy and intuitive.
Report as InappropriateJames Sieffert
The double backup option via microSD card and mnemonic seed effectively reduces the risk of losing access to the wallet.

In terms of using the device, the software options and the hardware itself, the BitBox02 is a hardware wallet as I would imagine it, when thinking of the keywords "Bitcoin", "Switzerland" and "2019": Solid, secure, customer-oriented and reliable. [...] with the BB02 Shift has raised the bar considerably for hardware wallets.
Report as InappropriateDaniel C Sluyk
The BitBox02 is one of the most focused hardware wallets. A simple usability concept, and clean software. Behind it there's a company that stands for Bitcoin like few others do in the space. It is especially easy to recommend this wallet because it does not support shitcoins.
Report as InappropriateSean Normoyle
Price-wise, it is above other wallets, which might scare off some beginners. However, its price is more than justified in our opinion, since its features compete with the top models from other manufacturers. [...] BitBox is a very good solution for storing and sending bitcoins securely. This discreet wallet convinced us and we see no reason not to recommend it.
Report as InappropriateJoan E Zimmerman
The device is well designed and the interaction with it is 10/10. Tapping, sliding and holding down non-existent buttons gives it a premium feel. The usability is delightful.
Report as InappropriateMichael Montague
the BitBox02 to me seems the best option to choose for someone who has just started getting into the Bitcoin/Crypto world but currently only uses software wallets (Coinbase, BlueWallet, Muun, Samourai, Wasabi) and decides to improve their security without the complexity of using a ColdCard.
Report as InappropriateCameron Warner
Like most hardware wallets, the BitBox02 comes in a thumbstick-like form factor, which makes it both portable and somewhat resistant to damage.
Report as InappropriateIrene Taw
Its design is fairly simple, consisting of a smart rectangular main unit with a built-in MicroUSB slot and USB-C connector.
Report as InappropriateDavid Spector
The BitBox02 is definitely one of the smaller hardware wallets we have seen. At just 45mm x 24mm x 8mm, the BitBox02 is just over half the size of its compare to the Ledger Nano X, and far smaller than ShapeShift's KeepKey wallet.
Report as InappropriateNeil Bhargava
Once you've removed that, you'll find a smart outer sleeve containing an unfolding box. Inside, you will find the BitBox02 unit, an 8GB MicroSDHC card, and a USB-C to USB type A converter.
Report as InappropriateGabrielle R Carr
The five touch sensors built into the frame of the device are used to detect sliding, tapping and pinching motions which can be used to navigate through menus, show more information and confirm selections.
Report as InappropriateCorey W Deberry-Seguine
The BitBox02 set up process is one of the simplest we have encountered to date, and should take less than five minutes to complete.
Report as InappropriateBradley W Campbell
the BitBox02 stores a wallet backup on the supplied microSD card. Once this backup is made, the microSD should be stored separately from the BitBox02 device, and should only be retrieved to manage or restore a backup.
Report as InappropriatePaul L Shields Jr
the BitBox02 is safer to use than many other hardware wallets, since these typically only allow wallet recovery by using a mnemonic phrase.
Report as InappropriateRobert Fischer
BitBoxApp is currently available for Windows, MacOS, and Linux, and a beta version of the app is also available for Android via the Google Play Store. Through the app, users have access to a range of additional features, including the option to connect to custom full nodes and connect to the network via Tor.
Report as InappropriateThomas A Marino
the multi-edition version of the BitBox02 can be used as a FIDO Universal 2nd Factor (U2F) authenticator, allowing users to securely log in to any U2F compliant platform, including Google, GitHub, Facebook and more.
Report as InappropriateClinton Poitra
Unlike some other hardware wallets, the BitBox02 multi-edition is only compatible with a restricted range of cryptocurrencies.
Report as InappropriateJohn M Gonzales
Being a cryptocurrency hardware wallet, the BitBox02 is designed to help users securely store their cryptocurrencies offline. To achieve this, Shift Cryptosecurity has carefully considered all the ways the device could possibly be compromised and designed its security around these potential vulnerabilities.
Report as InappropriateSheila J Pruitt
With the BitBox02, the first line of defense is the access password, which can consist of both uppercase and lowercase alphanumeric characters. To prevent this from being brute-forced, the built-in secure chip includes a password counter that limits the number of password entry attempts an attacker can try, while password stretching in the secure chip makes cracking the password practically impossible.
Report as InappropriateJason Bland
The BitBox02 also uses multiple sources of entropy to generate the seed, which is then stored in the device microcontroller unit (MCU)'access to which is protected by an enterprise-grade secure chip and the user's password.
Report as InappropriateRusty Cash
BitBox02 is the second hardware wallet from the Swiss company Shift Cryptosecurity AG. This time there are two editions that share the same hardware but differ by the software. One edition provides support for different cryptocurrencies while the other minimizes the attack surface and only supports Bitcoin.
Report as InappropriateGuoming Feng
As for user experience, what sets the BitBox02 apart from other hardware wallets is that it relies on three main gestures to operate rather than buttons. The gestures are tapping, sliding, and holding, and they take only a few moments to get the hang of. The wallet has unseen sliders around its edges, which are what these gestures are applied to. All in all, it should be easy to use for experts and newcomers alike.
Report as InappropriateEric Fuller
The wallet doesn't slouch on security, so we give it points for that. As we'd expect, its secure chip shields cryptocurrency private keys from outside attackers, with the device's password stretching mechanism specifically mitigating brute force attacks.
Report as InappropriateKenneth R Rowe
The wallet does its job well, it's totally approachable, and we really liked the slider design when it came to the user experience. The only points we took off was for its somewhat fragile feeling display, insofar as we could see how the device might get easily scratched.
